Manual Wheelchairs

Manual wheelchairs are one of the most sought after mobility devices because of their versatility. Most manual wheelchairs can go anywhere and fit through almost any doorway. They also make it easy for the person using it or the person helping them push. There are so many sizes and types to choose from that we only carry the most popular in -store, but if you do not find what you are looking for here give us a call and we will get you what you need.

Standard Wheelchairs

We here at AAA Mobility Specialists of Illinois, Inc work with so many different vendors that when it comes to standard wheelchairs there are to many to list here. However, here are a few of the models we recommend.

Some of our biggest sellers are the Tracer SX5 Series lightweight wheelchair from Invacare and the Cruiser III Series from Drive Medical.

Reclining Wheelchairs

Reclining Wheelchairs are a little different from the standards but they come in handy for people with crippling disabilities that may be unable to sit at a 90° angle making a standard wheelchair useless. There are many different types of reclining wheelchairs and most of them are built to your specifications.

One of the main ones we sell is the Silver Sport Full Reclining Wheelchair from Drive. This chair comes in three different seat sizes (16″, 18″ or 20″) and has a few different features. We also supply the Tracer 9000 XT Recliner Wheelchair from Invacare which can also be built to your specifications and offers up to six different seat sizes (14″, 16″, 18″, 19″, 20″ or 22″).

Transport Chairs

Transport Chairs are quite different from a standard wheelchair. For starters, when using a transport chair you must have someone helping you, due to the brakes being placed where you  can’t reach them. The chair also has smaller wheels, which makes it much lighter then the standard manual wheelchair.

These types of chairs are best used for going to the doctor or out to eat but not recommended for sitting in all day. Here is the one we see the most: Deluxe Fly-Weight Aluminum Transport Chair with Removable Casters from Drive.
